Waterford Hills hosts a practice/test and tune day the Friday before each club race weekend.
These sessions are open to those who are registered for the race weekend as well as
those who are not, so long as they are driving a competition prepared (GCR legal) race car and have
all safety gear.
Schedule and Payment
- Paddock gates open at 9:00am.
- Track sessions begin at 12:00pm and run until 4:00pm.
- Each session runs for 30 minutes, alternating between open wheel and closed wheel.
- Pay for sessions by CASH or CHECK (no credit cards) at the base of the tower:
- WHRRI license, registered to race that weekend: $30 per session
- Other licenses, registered to race that weekend: $40 per session
- WHRRI license, not registered to race that weekend: $50 per session
- Other licenses, not registered to race that weekend: $60 per session
-
At check-in, drivers will be required to present their Competition License and a
current logbook showing an approved annual tech within the past 24 months, with no
subsequent incidents noted requiring re-inspection. We recognize that an undamaged
car with an expired annual tech may still participate in practice sessions and be able
to get an annual tech later that day. As always, we will not allow an unsafe car
on the track.
-
As stated elsewhere, registration for the race weekend ends at 6:00pm the night
before Friday practice. Check-in will have a list from MSR of registered drivers.
If you are not on it, you will be charged the non-racing rate. It is your responsibility
to make sure you have registered on time and correctly. Practice is a busy time, and our
limited staff will have neither the time nor the access to MSR to make corrections or
exceptions for you.
-
If you are registered for the weekend event, you may leave your race car overnight in an
UNRESERVED paddock spot. Reserved/unreserved paddock spots are listed on the tower.
Weekend event registration is open on Friday from 4:00pm until 7:30pm and on Saturday
from 8:00am until 9:45am in the press room of the tower.
