Re: Safes start Alternatives

As long as the green isn't held longer than absolutely necessary, I personally think we're good. All the procedural changes in the world aren't gonna keep people from pushing the wrong pedal. That's more of a remedial driver's ed topic IMO. That said, if we were to try a back-straight start, I'd be ...

test day registration etc

OK, dumb question. I intend to be out for testing, but will not be running the race weekend. As there is no pre-registration etc for the test day, what will we be subjected to with respect to entry screening etc? Rules for the weekend require all crew volunteers etc to pre-register for the race week...

Re: WTB: Big ol' wings

I have a 16" cord ex-Staudacher wing. I don't recall the length, but it'll be in the neighborhood of 65-68" - will need mounts fabricated, plus one small spot of damage (about thumbnail sized) punch-through on one side. Will also need endplates, though those are easy enough to make - or mount it by ...

Re: HANS / Neck restraints

Very long saga behind this, but boils down to - SFI is there to generate money, to protect its members (which are the safety gear manufacturers) - not racers. Even the FIA knows they don't need recert unless "used." Notice how SFI belts only last 3 years? Which is good, they can price themselves out...

Looking a little MOIST on the front straight??

Is it just me, or... does it look like a bit of a lake right now on the front straight??

Just checking out the webcam live, and... yeah.
