Vern Roberts.

I Only know because of Social Media ( Facebook updates ). Thought i would post here as not all use social media.
Very sad to report , Vern Roberts has passed away. Dorothy no doubt has her hands and emotions full at this time, so i thought i would just pass along what she has shared,

" Hey all.. Tonight my Dad went to be with God... After a long fight his body gave up. He was very peaceful"

All our hearts are full and heavy.

I am sure once details are known, they will be shared.

Please keep his family in your thoughts.

Say it aint so! My heart goes out to the Roberts family. Peace be with you. He certainly was one of the good guys and a big plus for Waterford Hills. I never really knew Vern but I already miss him.

We send along our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Vern. Our thoughts and prayers are with them all, in the sure knowledge that he will be missed. As we gather together to enjoy our friendship and sport, a place will be empty on the grid and in our hearts. He will be missed.

I owe much of my racing fun to Vern. Never gave up on me even on the second go 'round when he was explaining heel and toe and I was thinking that's impossible. I will miss him and WHRRI will never be the same for many of us. Carol and my thoughts are with his family and the extended family at Southern Motors. God Speed.

Don't really know what to say. I know that Vern is at peace now and no longer in pain, but it still is hard on those that love Vern and are left behind. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Dorothy, Maryanne and the entire family. Also thinking of David and all the guys at Southern Motors on this very sad day.

I'm going to remember Vern's big smile that he had whenever he talked about his family, racing or cars. As most of us at Waterford already know, he had such a big heart and loved to help people.

As I told him many times, "Thank you Vern...again."

For many years I raced, saw the big rig(from Southern Motors), and was always a little intimidated .....but over the last years I have been able to get to know Vern and his family. A decent, kind , generous person, always with a smile, and encouragement! I and all of WHRRI will miss him, but will not forget him..........My prayers to Dorothy, and the family.......
