Semi-new racer to WHRRI

Postby CG-Lock Racer » Mon Mar 04, 2013 1:47 pm

Hey folks,

I've been racing for over 10 yrs, but will be doing my first full season (maybe minus a couple of days) at WHRRI this year. A friend of mine bought a SpecNeon with intent of racing the season, and I'd be driving when he has conflicts. As it turns out, the whole season will be a conflict for him, so I'll be running it. I've raced SCCA Regional and National SpecMiata and Skip Barber MX-5's and done a couple of enduros (NJMP, VIR) in SMs as well. I'm just looking forward to a full season after a couple of part time seasons. I've raced Waterford once back when there was the SM SMART series, but have been instructing with the RSR PCA for the last 2 years there. This will be my first time racing a wrong wheel drive car though :P

I just wanted to introduce myself and I can't wait to get on track and race again. I'm sure I'll have questions regarding WHRRI procedures and SpecNeon rules and tuning. BTW, are the 2013 SN rules up yet? I've found '12 rules.

Thanks! I look forward to meeting everyone!

Welcome Phil,

We were looking forward to sharing some track time with Mike O., who was one of our mentors in autocross racing, and was a big reason for our early success with "The Grape". Glad to hear another quality driver will be entering the fray in SN this year. You can pretty much figure on the 2013 SN rules to be unchanged from 2012, which worked well last year. (Personally I think the DOHC cars should carry another 100 lbs., but whatever. :P )

One of many cool videos on youtube from last year. Note the Miata ahead of us that hit the brake pedal instead of the clutch pedal heading into turn one on the first lap.

Welcome to SN. Please stop by our paddock area and introduce yourself. 8)
