2014 schedule - is this it?

Postby 924RACR » Thu Nov 14, 2013 1:29 pm

So, is this right, or just a really good/plausible guess?
http://detroit-scca.org/e107/page.php?10

There's a few conflicts with Regionals (or whatever they're gonna call 'em now) in there...

Just a yes/no schedule is/isn't confirmed yet would be fine...

This is the schedule as posted by our race director.

Yeah... sorta bummed by that, but sorta not, given that they apparently never improved on the problems that were experienced before... and given that Grattan's now back ON the schedule after a major absence last year...

Definitely bummed about the regional conflicts; we don't usually have as much of a problem with that... but I'm sure it's never easy...

Vaughn and all,
Not a tense reply. Making a schedule is a P.I.T.A.
Trying to achieve spacing between weekends, not conflicting with local events ( s.a.e / Belle Isle ) , Mothers Day, etc.. It's as never easy, sometimes it's no choice schedule ( like 2 years ago ).
Add to the fact ( and often forgotten ) the club has to take into account other events that take place on the grounds. Give and take with other sub clubs is vital for good will and mutual respect.
Correct me if i am wrong, but i only see one conflict on the posted schedule.
I cannot recall a schedule without a conflict.

I think Jim and the rest of B.O.D. ( not including me on this one ) did a good job with it.
Again, in a positive tone: Any suggestions and input is always welcome.
Want some frustrating fun,? create a schedule! It feels better when you stop hitting your head against the wall! :)

While I'm certain that it feels better to stop hitting one's head against the wall it may not be soon enough to limit the effects of a concussion.
It seems to have affected our vocabulary.
"Conflict" is a gross oversimplification.
Why don't we just race on Belle Isle weekend?

I retract the use of word "conflict" , and insert " possible conflicting date of interest for attendance"
Same thing.
No way to make everybody happy.
We used to race on Mothers Day, and Memorial Weekend. Times have changed.
Pro events are in town.
The Board rightfully thinks the sun does not rise or set on Waterford alone.

I feel it does a good job of paying attention to other events that folks may wish to attend.

Defintely there's the conflict with the Gingerman Majors (Race 3), but... perhaps I'm misreading, it's certainly hard to be sure, is the Race 4 weekend Aug 9-10 or Aug 16-17? There's actually no date listed on that line; my impression was that it was Aug 9-10th, same as the IT-Fest at Mid-O.

Would make for some happy campers if I'm wrong...
