sharing space when we're jam packed

at the drivers meeting Jerry P. floated the idea of sharing paddock space when we're packed, especially those of us who got two spaces in the upper paddock due to our trailer length (I'm in this category). I'm happy to play along, since really I don't need all of both my spaces. I'm trying to figure out how best to coordinate with others around me and how to communicate our extra space availability to others when the weekend comes. we have the paddock map at the tower with reserved spots marked off, which is a fine start, but it doesn't/can't really address dividing up and sharing space. once I get installed and know what space I can give up, what then? all I'm coming up with right now is a "someone please use this space" sign and roping off the area. that feels pretty clumsy. better ideas?
