Waterford Hills annual tech vs. SCCA tech, Spec Miata

Postby seanmurf » Thu May 02, 2013 7:30 pm

I am looking at spec miatas. Is a Waterford Hills tech equivilant to an SCCA tech inspection? Or would the car require re-tech with SCCA to run other events?

Thank you!

Like everything... depends!

Regionals or Nationals?

WHRRI annual tech is in a WHRRI logbook - which, like a WHRRI license, can be used to run SCCA Regionals.

However, if you wish to run Nationals, you'll need an SCCA National race license, SCCA logbook, and SCCA annual tech in that logbook. Good news is, talk to Larry at Tech, he can hook you up with one if needed. ;)

If you have the slightest intention of racing with the SCCA, particularly in this region, then get an SCCA tech. Waterford accepts it plus there will be no headaches if you decide to race elsewhere. I ran into such an issue this past summer at a regional event.
