It gets worse Joel. Two days after the Firebird got here I made a deal with Erik and Kristian for their white Camaro. Need more garage space and a much bigger trailer! End of thread hijack. By the way, when can we arrange new numbers?

Looking at the 2011 financials, of course the OCSC membership route is most cost effective. I can go shooting AND get practice in on those three day weekends I'll be "forced" to take to go racing.

How do I get an SCCA Novice permit?
Can I get my annual tech inspection done the weekend of the on-track school session?
Once my car is ready (hopefully in mid-March) who can I take it to in the area that can give me a logbook.

--Join S.C.C.A., and contact your region's License director.

Can I get my annual tech inspection done the weekend of the on-track school session?

--Yes, as your car will have to be tech-ed anyway for the on track portion of the school.

Once my car is ready (hopefully in mid-March) who can I take it to in the area that can give me a logbook.

--Once your car is ready, contact a tech inspector via the website. Depending on where you live, sometimes they can come to you ( expenses may be incurred ) or bring the car to a meeting. They will guide you to a best option.

Do not wait until the week before to purchase any safety equpment you may need. Your choices diminish the closer it gets to when the season starts....

Only safety equipment I need is a HANS device which will be purchased when Uncle Sam gives me back some money. Everything else (except the new Sparco ProADV that I want) is waiting here in my house.

I will be coming up to Averill for some roll bar padding soon.

Good to see you're on top of things.
I've had many Driver's school candidates appear the week before driver's school, needing everything, to be surprised that all the sizes and options they wanted, was not just sitting here (or anywhere) waiting for them to walk in the door.

Can I pick my own race #?
Where do I get a transponder from?
The OCSC application implies that I need a club member to sponsor me. True? If so, I don't know any OCSC members.

Friday Practice Days - Yes you can pay per session the day of. $20 for 30 minutes...can't beat that anywhere.

Race #...? As in the number on the side of your car? Yes...but realize that others may want it to. I think if you buy the race package deal at the beginning of the year and submit your number it can be held...don't quote it on that...I think the Director of Racing can answer better.

Not sure who I talked to today at Autorama but he said the 2012 race fees will stay the same.

Awesome about cheap practice days. I can take a 1/2 day off work and be on the track by noon for a couple shakedown sessions.

As close to the front as you can get it, without it getting messed up in an accident. Most guys put it on the inside of the framerail.
