Hard working volunteers

Post by john »

With race three soon too be upon us please don't forget about the hard working volunteers who give their time and money to make sure the show goes on. You can donate to the Waterford hills worker fund by going to one of the participant pages and clicking on the PayPal link on the right side.

I just want to say a very BIG THANK YOU to everyone at Waterford Hills Track for all you do for the volunteers. It is such an HONOR and PRIVILEGE to come there and be appreciated for our time. We went to one of own home tracks (Mosport- 5 hours away versus 1.5 hrs to Waterford) this past weekend and was not really impressed with how they treated the volunteers. There was no coffee for us in the mornings at the meetings. If you wanted it you had to buy it at the concessions but they were not open until 7:00 am and we were in the middle of morning meetings. Then on track for 7:15 am and no time whatsoever to go and get one before cars on course. Our lunches consisted of soggy wraps. The dinner was chicken fingers, potato salad, bun, dessert and drink which all of this was brought right out to you on the track. Bathrooms were an obstacle course to get to, just horrendous on Saturday. Sunday was okay we were at Turn Station 5 where we did have a concession stand there with facilities. I also want to say THANK YOU to KATHY WRITT for all her hard work in helping out with worker draws and all the other things she does. We did not get anything like that at Mosport. Not that it was expected but it would have been nice. It is just the little things like that, that keep us coming back to Waterford. So see you this weekend at Vintage.
