Drivers School: 43 entries+ and why you need to be there!

Post by Joel Hershoren »

Long post, but please read.

April 23-24 Drivers School On-Track
43 Entries and likely to grow, with 6 in open wheel.
This means closed wheel groups could near 20 per run group.
THAT is a busy school. As usual it is a good news bad news situation.
Bad news ? Simple. The reputation this club has earned for an excellent School over a long period of time could be effected if the club does not rise to the occasion.

Reasons to come and help out.
1. Somebody was there for you when you went to school. Pay it forward. It's about them.
2. You get work bee hours and lunch both days.
3. If you are still an active driver, you get to participate in the quality of drivers that may be in your run group. This is more important than ever, with spec classes and a back ground of karting being very common, many of these folks are very competitive out of gates. Front row competitive! There are 13 Spec Miatas registered for school, let that sink in for a moment,

If you are a past or current licensed Waterford/SCCA driver, try and make a point to pitch in.
Do not worry if you have never taught before, there is a first time for everybody. Many drivers with a young license learn even more by being spotters and working the lead instructors without the tension of getting in and out of the race car. A second free school if you will.

Right now, Jerry has more SCCA stewards (10) than John Blanchard has confirmed instructors. ( normal at this point in time,,but,, )
Give John , Jerry, and YOUR club a hand .
Contact John and let him know you are able to help.
Please do not assume : "he knows i am coming" , give him the respect of a heads up. He has plenty on his plate, even more with the normal Saturday Morning chaos. . Give him less to worry about.

Email is best ( trust me,,ha-ha )

Woohoo! Looking forward to it... and glad to see a decent handful of open-wheelers in there too!
