Need to make room for another racecar project and something has to go. The MGB, while having raced at Waterford Hills for many years, was recently raced in September of this year. Asking $5K. It's ready to race with the next annual inspection not due until Sept."24. Currently runs ITB but could easily be an H prod car. No rust or serious damage beyond a few minor bumps.
1800cc engine, dual SU carbs, fuel cell, fire system, a set of race tires with one heat cycle, 2nd set used mounted used tires, serious roll gage construction.
Also included extra trans, heads, 2 new fenders, brake drums, stock shocks, and miscellaneous other parts.

Re: 1975 MGB FOR SALE
What about the car now would need to change to get it to HP? In any sort of shape to run decently enough at Majors in HP to get me into the runoff experience?

Re: 1975 MGB FOR SALE
Sorry for the slow response. ITB is basically a stock class with few if any upgrades beyond safety additions. HP class allows engine modification increasing compression, changing carbs, running slick tires with wheel opening flares to accommodate wider tires. Remove the windshield, add additional air openings for brake cooling and on and on. Check the GCR for additional upgrades.
The currently the car has a small 3 gal. fuel cell. Any thoughts of running Majors would require a larger cell. I do have an 8 gal. cell available.
Cheers,
Rich

Thanks! Already got a winter of two car's worth of bodywork to do, don't need to add a third!

So it looks like it was a tough weekend in Sept. Either completed only one lap or none at all. What were the issues?

The 40-year-old carbs off an outdoor stored donor car were crap. The SU floats didn’t float. Since replaced with rebuilt cards. Also committed to act as Chief Steward and didn’t have time to screw with the car. Cheers

FYI, the MGB has been sold and is staying in the area. It should make an appearance at the 2024 WHRRI Drivers School.
