FS - parting out: '92 Miata - Schaut Speed Motorsports SM

Postby Nigel Stu » Sun Sep 29, 2013 1:38 pm

Decision has been made to part the good parts off the car and turn the tub into a donor for prod/STL or Chump/lemons.

See latest post for parting details. Still available as a whole car/parts package until things start coming off the car.

---------------------------------------------------------

Up for sale is my personal Spec Miata.

[u]ALSO

Could be run as SM, converted up to STL/STU or PTE specs or converted down to ChumpCar specs.

SCCA Logbook. 1992 1.6L car. Built from a straight-tub street car by Schaut Speed Motorsports in 2008-2009. Have campaigned the car in Spec Miata at Regional and National events over previous 4 years. Very quick 1.6L NA car, has most of the right parts for SM.

Excellent cage work by Angry Sheep Motorsports. Strong, safe and done to increase chassis stiffness.

Currently in SM trim with following major components:
Mazda Spec competition dampers, springs and swaybars
    Turnbuckle adjustable swaybar end links
'99 top hats with Fatcat bumpstops
Mazdacomp LSD - clutch type, only 3 races on refresh
Rossini motor with 1 season (strong motor, 120 WHP prior to installing adjustable FPR)
Springfield Dyno Exhaust, intake and radiator (2 races on radiator, includes anti-corrosion cap)
Innovate Wideband O2 sensor and gauge added for AFR tuning
    Adjustable fuel pressure regulator
    Adjusted AFM
    Hard-top/brackets
    MazdaComp FR lip
Sparco Rev FIA seat with up-to-date Schroth 6-point harness (solid mount seat), momo str wheel.
Rebuilt brakes with Cobalt Friction pads
Bunch of wheels/tires - 2.5 sets of Hosier SM6, 1 set of unused Hoosier H20. All on 15x7 wheels at ~13.1 lbs.
    Hand-held fire extinguisher

Car weighs 2300 lbs empty fuel with myself and ~75lbs ballast in the car.

Some spares - trans, injectors, various engine parts, stock Viscous LSD, koni suspension that came on the car, exhaust, hood, doors, etc.

Has some minor body damage from last outing. Would need to be fixed before next SCCA event (noted in logbook, damage to rr quarter panel) and has had some scuffs through the years racing. Still solid chassis that adjusts out right.

$12k as it is, 13.5K with damage fixed.

$5.5k in 'Chump' spec. (removing all the SM parts from the deal and swapping in the viscous, putting the old suspension back on, installing a non-pro-built motor, stock radiator, intake and removing the hard-top.)

Contact to discuss cost / options for STL/STU/PTE build

Car will be delivered set-up with fresh alignment in whatever spec buyer wants (SM, Chump, somewhere in between) and if local buyer, support at next years events that I am at.

Bump -

Needs a new home so another car can find a new home at my place!

I'd much rather sell as a whole, but will start entertaining parting it out... Strong pro motor, SM suspension, hard-top, MazdaComp Diff, SD radiator, etc...

Decision has been made to part out the car. Short list of parts with prices are as follows: If there is something needed that would obviously be on the car, message me.

-D-force Wheels with new, never driven on Hoosier H20 - $1000 for set (I could pull the tires off, but it wont make financial sense)
    h
-Rossini motor - strong (120 whp at first dyno-tune at Walsh motorsports, before adjustable FPR and before run-in), has run-offs (recorded 20th fastest trap speed of the race) and a 4-race season at Waterford on it. Good compression numbers (taken with engine cold) 185-189 across all 4. Comes with Springfield Dyno carbon fiber intake through exhaust manifold (how it was dyno'd) - $2000

-Springfield Dyno radiator with only 2 races on it, comes with anti-corrosion cap - $500
-Spec Miata suspension - springs, dampers, sways, fatcat/'99 tophats, adjustable endlinks for sways - $1000 for all of it.
-Newer MazdaComp diff - complete unit/case. Chris C at AngrySheep set it up from a new, never run LSD unit, only a few races on it. Ready to bolt in and go - $1000
-Advanced Autosport Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator - installed then run for 2 race weekends. $200
    -spare rebuilt/flow matched injectors - $100
-Spare mazdacomp / ACT clutch disk - $100
    -Sparco REV seat - $500
-Momo steering wheel (smaller diameter - $100
    -Spares, little parts, etc.

Prices are OBO - All parts will be first to come up with enough money gets the parts. May be willing to deal a bit if buying lots of stuff.

I'm ready to take parts off the car. First to contact me gets first dibs on the parts, I will respond in order of contact received.

The tub will be available once parts are off. Maybe be a rolling chassis depending on what all sells. SOLID cage would make a great starter for Chump/STL/Prod.

Partial/ package deals available if you take the chassis with certain parts still attached. And of course, car is still available as is as a complete car/spares package.
