Ah, OK, cool.
Now, fitting a GTI into AS, that might be a bigger challenge...

I'm building to run ITB. Ok, I'll go back to my original plan of doing small footers as my 7th & 8th pick up points.924RACR wrote:I'm not certain which class you intend to run your car in, but that's not typically legal...
Might be time to take a closer look at the rulebook...

Re: Newbie Questions
Then, in that case, remember the most important rule relating to the IT ruleset: IIDSYCYC!
If It Doesn't Say You Can, You Can't!
Everything you can do is spelled out in the ITCS. If it's not in there, you can't do it...

IMO it's a stupid rule but whatever, I'll play by the rules so I can play.

More questions...Yeah!!!
2012 Race fees - have they been determined yet?
I doubt I'll have the time to do all six Friday practice days, can I pay for them "a la carte"?
Can I pick my own race #?
Where do I get a transponder from?
The OCSC application implies that I need a club member to sponsor me. True? If so, I don't know any OCSC members.

Friday Practice Days - Yes you can pay per session the day of. $20 for 30 minutes...can't beat that anywhere.
Race #...? As in the number on the side of your car? Yes...but realize that others may want it to. I think if you buy the race package deal at the beginning of the year and submit your number it can be held...don't quote it on that...I think the Director of Racing can answer better.
transponder - mylaps.com Go To products. It is an AMB transponder you are looking for. You can check EBay for a used one if desired.
OCSC members. Most people on this forum and race are members. Show up to a Waterford Hills general membership meeting (1st Wednesday of the month) and anyone would be honored to sign it. I would but I will be out-of-town on business next week. If you go to the OCSC office, Dan Stiff is the office manager and will sign it as well.
Question for you - What ITB car do you have?

Not sure who I talked to today at Autorama but he said the 2012 race fees will stay the same.EBSNASCAR wrote:2012 race fees - Joel or the BoD can answer.mike.rodriguez wrote:More questions...Yeah!!!

Awesome about cheap practice days. I can take a 1/2 day off work and be on the track by noon for a couple shakedown sessions.
Thanks...More money to spend.
I'll be at the membership meeting on Wednesday.
I'm building an '85 GTi.

Re: Newbie Questions
As close to the front as you can get it, without it getting messed up in an accident. Most guys put it on the inside of the framerail.mike.rodriguez wrote:Ok, found a used transponder on eBay. Where's the best location for it?

Re: Newbie Questions
Transponder.
Put it anywhere it will be safe and get a good view of the timing line on the track.
The transponder has nothing to do with track position (finishing position), just timing.
Otherwise there would be a Spec. place for each type of car.

Re: Newbie Questions
Safe from crash damage and not too close to exhaust system.
Ask me how I know that.

Re: Newbie Questions
transponder on the ITS #46 died and seems to have been overheated by the exhaust.
I'll be relocating ALL the RX7 transponders over the winter.

Re: Newbie Questions
Almost done with the cage. Need to find a scrutineer to log book the car and want to ask about a couple things. Anyone on here a scrutineer?
