July 25th Vintage Week / Concours OTD

Postby karnold » Thu Jul 05, 2012 6:10 pm

Online registration is now open for the July 25th OTD.

Since this is a special Open Track Day for Vintage Week and in conjunction with the Concours d'Elegance of America we've added a special paced touring lap group in addition to the usual high performance speed groups.

The paced touring group is designed for those who don't "feel the need for speed" and for those with convertibles or vintage cars that may not be able to meet the tech inspection requirements for the speed groups. Also, no helmet is required for this group.

Price is $150.00 for the HDPE groups and $85.00 for the paced touring group.

Full event information and online registration is available now at http://www.myautoevents.com

A downloadable mail in form will be available soon on our website under the vintage tab and also at the Concours d'Elegance of America website under their track event tab.

Any questions? Feel free to post them here or email whrrivintage@gmail.com

Also, looking for volunteers to help on corners, grid, pit lane, sound, tech & tower. Let us know if you can help.

Since Elise will be busy packing for her new adventure and move to China, I'll be the registrar for this OTD held in conjunction with the vintage weekend.

Thanks

How many run-groups are you planning? What is the registration deadline?

There are 5 run groups for next weeks OTD

4 High performance groups separated by experience levels - Novice, Limited Experience, Experienced and Competition Licensed. These groups require a cars that will pass the technical requirements and the driver must have an approved helmet.

Closed wheel race cars are welcome, but the cars must meet the standard muffler and 75dB sound requirement. The sound waiver for the vintage races only applies for the Friday - Sunday races.

All of the rules & regulations, and a downloadable copy of the entry form can be found here -

Since this is a special track day for vintage week, we have added a paced touring lap group for those who just want the track experience without the speed and performance aspect. This group is open to all cars, even convertibles and a helmet is not required. It's similar to the touring laps held during lunches and breaks on a race weekend, with multiple sessions throughout the day.

As for registration deadline, the deadline to mail the form with payment is July 20th. Online entries can be entered as late as 5:00 p.m. Tuesday July 24th. We will also take entries the morning of the event (between 7am - 9an), but will be subject to availability.

The tech inspector for OTD's usually monitors these boards too, so if anyone has any questions regarding tech or equipment, feel free to ask and you'll likely get a prompt response.
