2010 Mazda MX-5 Miata SCCA Touring 4 (T4) Race Car Package

Post by Camaro67racer » Tue May 29, 2018 9:53 am

If anyone is looking to go racing in T4, this is an excellent top-level car...

Car has many SCCA Majors podiums, including wins. It finished 5th place of 40 cars at the 2017 Indy Runoffs. It was the highest finishing MX-5 and also turned the fastest lap time during the race of all the MX-5s. Current SCCA logbook.

2010 Mazda MX-5 (NC2) built to SCCA Touring 4 (T4) specs
Built into a race car with just over 18K miles on the car for the 2015 season. Built from a totally straight donor, was not crashed (this was NOT an old Cup Car).

Car was shipped to Sean Hedrick at MiataCage who built a beautiful, roomy, strong roll cage. If you look on the MiataCage website under the SM5/T4 cage, the black car pictured is this car. Cage and interior are all professionally painted. Also includes custom rear bulkhead with access to fuel pump.

Fresh cylinder head with all-new valves, springs, seals, VVT actuator, done by X-Factor Racing (just has dyno and Runoffs time on it)
Custom MotoEast ECU tune
T4 approved MX-5 suspension kit - MX-5 Cup (Eibach) springs (custom machined collars), Eibach anti-roll bars, and adjustable end links
Bilstein shocks
East Street Racing (Jim Drago) built 6-speed transmission
Mazda OEM removable hard top with custom hard-fastened brackets
Factory limited-slip differential
Ron Davis aluminum radiator
SafeCraft seat belts good for the 2018 season
Custom driver seat base - attaches to factory seat mounts. Mounts could be removed to get driver lower if desired. I'm about 6ft tall and have lots of room.
SafeCraft three-nozzle fire suppression system
MX-5 Cup cold air intake
Catalytic converter removed from exhaust manifold and replaced with a straight tube (per T4 rules)
Mazdaspeed MX-5 Cup exhaust
Full Mazdaspeed / AWR brake cooling kit (including wheel-side ducts)
Goodridge Stainless Steel Brake Lines
G-Loc brake pads with one race on the fronts, tons of life remaining on the rear pads

Rear wheel bearings and hubs were replaced with Mazda OE parts in June 2017. Only two weekends, plus Runoffs on them.
Upgraded RX-8 front hub/bearings (allowed by T4 rules). Left front hub has two weekends, plus Runoffs on it. Right front has one additional weekend on it.
Sparco steering wheel with NRG quick release
CoolShirt cooler and hose included in the sale (needs to be wired in)
Advanced Autosports fuel sample port
Custom ballast system makes changing weight very simple
Longacre panoramic rear mirror, electric side mirrors w/factory switch
Redline synthetic oil used in the engine, transmission (MTL), and differential

Comes with FOUR full sets of 17-inch wheels and tires, including never-raced Hoosier H2O rain tires, Hoosier R7 with two heat-cycles, Hoosier A7 with four heat-cycles and another set of A7s with four heat-cycles. Each set includes one heat-cycle that was a "scrub" session per Hoosier guidelines. I also have two sets of Hoosier R7s that have seven heat-cycles that would be good practice tires if buyer wants them. Tires were always stored in climate controlled basement, out of the sun.
One year old battery that sits on a Battery Tender when not in use
The car is very light - 2,750 was the minimum weight with the suspension package on the car. With a 210 pound driver, it has over 170 lbs of ballast in the passenger side and ran with minimum of 4 gallons of fuel.
Overall body condition is good. The car has not been in any serious accidents, no suspension or structural damage at all. Just a few exterior bumps and bruises. She does have a slightly dented left front fender about the size of a softball (new painted fender included). Front and rear bumper covers have some wounds and don't need to be replaced, but all pieces to make the car just about perfect are included with the sale. The left rear quarter panel has some small dimples from a repair, not very noticeable at all. No body filler at all on the car. The passenger side of the car is in perfect shape. All of the graphics and stickers are in vinyl and removable.
Car cover included
*Car will not come with a transponder or seat, but otherwise it is race-ready.
