Track Paving

Post by Rich Johnson » Mon Oct 22, 2018 7:35 am

FYI. The paving will not begin on Monday. Actual paving is being delayed until Tuesday. I’ve heard the paving was becoming a spectator event and wanted to provide this update. Cheers. Rich

Thanks! Yeah, we'd stopped by Saturday hoping to see the excitement... I guess they got a similar impact from the weather as MDOT did on 696... LOL

I visited the track today.....All I can say is "WOW"!!!!!!! It's going to be a fantastic place to race with the new surface. I'm amazed at the "care" the paving crew is exhibiting!!!! I'm going to have to find a race-car to rent!!!! Bruce MacDonald , YOUR D.O.R.

I think it's fantastic how we tested the base layer by running some cars around it to find bumpy/problem areas, before the top layer goes on.

Sounds like a project done right!
